Then continue to the historical Pak Ou caves at the confluence of the Nam Ou and Mekong rivers. Our car or zongtael will pick you up there for transfer back to Luang Prabang</p>

<p></strong><strong>Day 1 : Houay Xai – Pakbeng<br />
</strong>Houay Xai is situated on the Mekong river in the north of Laos on the Thai border. You can get to Houay Xai easily from northern Thailand. From here you board a river boat, relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery all the way down river to Pakbeng. There will be a stop along the way to visit a Kamu tribal village &#8211; Ban Houy Sae. The Kamu are an ethnic minority.<br />
The boat arrives at Pakbeng before sunset, and you will stay overnight at Pakbeng Lodge.<br />
Includes lunch which is served on the boat.</p>
<p><strong>Day 2 : Pakbeng – Luang Prabang<br />
</strong>Before breakfast visit the Pakbeng markets, and then after breakfast, board the boat for another scenic day cruising down the Mekong. We will stop and visit a Hmong tribal village – Ban Houay Sing. Then lunch on the boat, and continue on to the sacred and historical Pak Ou caves, where Lao people make offerings every year in April. There are two caves, upper and lower, containing 1,500 statues of Buddha. The boat arrives at the World Heritage City of Luang Prabang before sunset.<br />
Transfer to the Lotus Hotel for overnight.</p>
<p><strong>Day 3 : Luang Prabang – City Tour<br />
</strong>Breakfast at your hotel, then continue your tour with a visit to Wat Xiengthong.<br />
This wat further emphasizes the uniqueness of Luang Prabang, with its several roofs sweeping low to the ground, and its impressive classical tree of life.<br />
After, visit the exhibition Hill Tribe Museum, and the Royal Palace where you will find a collection of gifts from around the world and other items of interest preserved from this world heritage town.<br />
After lunch you are driven for about an hour to Kwangsi waterfall. On the way, stop and see the film ‘UXO’ about the 1964-1973 war in this region. Kwangsi waterfall is the best in south-east Asia, with butterflies, tropical plants and flowers, and a great spot for swimming.<br />
Then back to town for relaxation.</p>
<p><strong>Day 4 : Luang Prabang – rest day<br />
</strong>You are free to explore around town on foot or bicycle. There are lovely sights to see, foods to eat, and great markets to visit. There is also the option of going elephant riding not far from town, or enjoying a Lao massage.</p>
<p><strong>Day 5 : Luang Prabang – Vientiane<br />
</strong>After breakfast, say goodbye to beautiful Luang Prabang and fly to the Laos capital &#8211; Vientiane. Here there is much to see including Wat Si Saket with thousands of Buddha images, Ho Pha Keo – a museum of Buddhist sculptures that was once the Royal Temple and housed the Emerald Buddha that now resides in Bangkok. Also visit Pha That Luang, a magnificent 3rd century golden stupa.<br />
Overnight at Vientiane Plaza hotel.</p>
<p><strong>Day 6 : Vientiane</strong></p>
<p>Breakfast at the hotel. Depart for the airport.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Day 1: Arrive in Vientiane.</strong><br />
Our tour guide picks you up and transfers you to your hotel for check-in.<br />
In the afternoon your guide will show you around Vientiane and visit some famous Wats. At Wat Sisket there are 10136 Buddha statues built between 1818-1824. Continue to Wat Horprakeo, original home of the emerald Buddha.<br />
Wat Xiengkuan is an interesting blend between Hinduism and Buddhism.<br />
After that you head to the UXO project for the blind in Laos.<br />
On the way back to the hotel we will stop on the bank of the Mekong for sunset. Overnight stay.</p>
<p><strong>Day 2: Vientiane – Vang Vieng<br />
</strong>After breakfast you will take our private van for a 3 hour trip to Vang Vieng.<br />
Here a beautiful mountain valley and river pass through the middle of town. You will arrive before noon and in the afternoon tour around Thumjung Cave and Phou Kham Cave. Then on to a mulberry farm for the start of a relaxing tube ride down the Namsong river.<br />
Overnight stay.</p>
<p><strong>Day 3: Vang Vieng – Luang Prabang<br />
</strong>After breakfast you take our private van to Luang Prabang.<br />
On the way we will stop at the best recommended scenic views and mountain villages to take photographs.<br />
Arrive in Luang Prabang, a World Heritage site, before sunset.<br />
Overnight stay.</p>
<p><strong>Day 4: Luang Prabang &#8211; Kayaking on the Nam Ou river<br />

</strong>After breakfast you visit Kwangsi waterfall. This park is lovely and great for swimming. The people of Luang Prabang find herbal medicines here and the caves were also used as survival shelters during the 1964-1973 secret war.<br />
Picnic at Kwangsi waterfall and later in the afternoon return to town and relax. Overnight stay.</p>
<p><strong>Day 6: Luang Prabang- Luang Namtha<br />
</strong>After breakfast you take a private van on a long 10 hour journey to Luang Namtha. On the way you will see a lot of interesting things by the roadside,<br />
including local people selling their own vegetables and produce.<br />
Arrive in Luang Namtha before sunset.<br />
Overnight stay.</p>
<p><strong>Day 7; Luang Namtha &#8211; Cycling<br />
</strong>After break fast you will enjoy the views cycling through a mountain valley and villages. Learn how local people here live and use bamboo for doing nearly every thing. Then take a little trek through the forest.<br />
Overnight stay at Bamboo Camp.</p>
<p><strong>Day 8: Trek from Bamboo Camp &#8211; Ban Lanten 4-5hrs<br />
</strong>After breakfast your guide will show you around and teach you about the local herbs and vegetables, and the native animals.<br />
Then continue with a trek up and down the mountain where you will see more of the Nam Ha forest protected area, and break for a picnic lunch.<br />
After that you will do a long walk to meet hill tribe Lanten people. They are originally from Tibet and have a very interesting culture and language.<br />
Overnight stay at a Lanten home stay.</p>
<p><strong>Day 9: Trek from Lanten tribe &#8211; Thai Dam tribe<br />
</strong>After breakfast you will continue to trek to Thai Dam.<br />
You pass through lot of jungle forest with tropical plants, and also hill tribe Akha villages. Akha only live in the northern part of Laos.<br />
There will a picnic lunch on the way.<br />
You arrive at Ban Thai Dam in the late afternoon. Here you can learn about silk weaving and the different lifestyle of these people who are quite well organized. A tuk tuk will pick you up and transfer to Luang Namtha.<br />
Overnight stay.<br />
<strong>Day 10: Luang Namtha &#8211; Muangkwa<br />
</strong>After breakfast you continue with a long ride in our private van to Muangkwa.<br />
On the way you will pass through Oudomsay province and Chinese trading towns. There will also be a stop to enjoy the hot springs in Nam Park. After that you will enjoy great views and see how the locals make salt.<br />
At noon you will see the ten days markets where all the mountain tribes come down to trade their own produce. They also wear their traditional dress.<br />
Arrival in Muangkwa before sunset.<br />
Overnight stay.</p>
<p><strong>Day 11: Muangkwa – Ban Sop Chem<br />
</strong>After breakfast you will take the boat for a mighty cruise down to Sop Chem.<br />
You will see many kinds of birds, village tribes, fishing, and school students. Take the boat crossing along the Nam Ou river for the impressive mountain valley views. Arrive at Ban Sop Chem before sunset.<br />
2 nights at a home stay here.</p>
<p><strong>Day12: Sop Chem &#8211; Ban Muang Ngoi Kao<br />
</strong>After breakfast you will take a small boat cruise for visit to a cave and villages. At noon return to the home stay and relax.<br />

Day 13: Sop Chem &#8211; Nong Kaiw – Luang Prabang<br />
</strong>After breakfast you take the boat cruise down to Nong Kaiw. Continue by van, stopping at a tobacco garden, and then on to Luang Prabang.<br />
After arrival, there is free time for leisure and relaxation.<br />
Overnight stay.</p>
<p><strong>Day14: Luang Prabang &#8211; departure</strong></p>
<p>After breakfast we transfer you to the airport. This is the end of our service.</p>
